MC247 - Atlanta Perimeter - Windows Printer Driver Installation (New Kyocera Copiers!)

The following instructions will enable KW Atlanta Perimeter users to install the new Kyocera Copiers onto their own Windows computers.
Windows 7, 8, 10 are supported.  The driver will recognize both 32 and 64bit systems.  Please contact Rawls Group Help Desk or KWAP's Agent Services for assistance.

Bonus: You can also use the removal tool to remove and cleanup the old KWAP copiers from your computer.
This tool will only remove the old KW printers, your personal printers will not be impacted


 

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

 

DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE

  1. Download the Windows driver by clicking this button.

     
  2. You should now have a file called "KWAP-KM-Driver.exe" downloaded (69.3mb)

  

 

 

 

STAGE 02: INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE

  1. Double click on the downloaded file to begin the software installation

     
  2. Windows Defender and Windows User Account Control may pop up when you begin
    the installation. 


             
    (Windows Defender: Click "More Info" then "Run Anyway")


     
    (User Account Control: Click "Yes")

     
  3. The Kyocera KX driver installation will begin.  The software runs "minimized" so don't be
    concerned when there isn't an application running on the screen. 
    As a reference: The running program appears as an icon on the Windows taskbar


     
  4. While the software continues to run, navigate to Windows Control Panel and click on "Hardware and Sound"

    (Jump to Control Panel:  Click Windows Start button, type the word 'panel', then press the 'enter' button on your keyboard)

     
  5. Continue navigating by clicking on 'Devices and Printers'

     
  6. Devices and Printers panel will not be displayed on your screen.  The new Kyocera printers will
    begin to show up in the list of Printers. 
    Installed Kyocera printers can be recognized by this icon displayed in 'Devices and Printers' panel.


    Printers circled in GREEN are the new KWAP Kyocera copiers
    Printers circled in RED are examples of the old KWAP copiers and can be removed using the removal tool.

    You are almost done, but don't stop here! Keep the Devices and Printers panel open.
    You MUST complete the next stage: 03 Configure the Printer...

  

 

 

STAGE 03: CONFIGURE THE PRINTER

  1. Each instance of the Kyocera printer must have User Authentication enabled before you can print. 
    Once you have identified the new Kyocera copiers installed in the Devices and Printers panel,
    follow these clicks:
        1 .    Right-click on a Kyocera Printer Icon
        2 .    Select 'Printer Properties' from the context menu
        3 .    Select 'Device Settings' from the Printer Properties panel
        4a .  Click 'Administrator' from the Properties Panel
        4b .  Verify 'Device Options' are selected accordingly
                [Note: The finisher uses a 3 hole punch]
        5 .    Click 'Job Accounting' from the Administrator Settings panel
        6 .    Check the 'Job Accounting' box and select 'Use Specific Account Id'
                Now add your copy code in the field provided
        7 .   ​ Click "OK", keep clicking "OK" until all remaining panels are closed



     
  2. Repeat the above steps for each of the Kyocera's displayed in the Devices and Printers panel
     
  3. Now you should have all three of KWAP's Kyocera printers installed and read to use!

 

 

 


REMOVAL TOOL: Remove the old KWAP copiers

You can use the the Removal Tool to remove and cleanup the old KWAP copiers from your computer. This tool will only remove the
old KW printers, your personal printers will not be impacted.

  1. Download the Removal Tool by clicking this button.

     
  2. You should now have a file called "KWAP_Removal_Tool.bat" downloaded (1kb)
     
  3. Click the 'up arrow' next to the file name, then select 'Show in Finder'

     
  4. Select 'Show in Folder' from the context menu

     
  5. Right-click the Removal Tool, select 'Run as Administrator' from the context menu

     
  6. Windows Defender and Windows User Account Control may pop up when you begin
    the installation. 
    (Windows Defender: Click "More Info" then "Run Anyway")
    (User Account Control: Click "Yes")
     
  7. The removal tool will look for the old KWAP printer installations and remove them

     
  8. The removal process should only take a few moments. Press any key to exit the program

     
  9. You can Navigate back to 'Devices and Printers' in Windows Control Panel to verify the old KWAP
    copiers are removed and the new Kyocera copiers are remaining.
